WASHINGTON, DC, Nov. 17, 2008 -- Dave Angelo, vice president and general manager of Fairbanks Morse Pump (Kansas City, Kan.), was named chairman of the Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association (WWEMA) during the organization's 100th annual meeting held Nov. 13-15, 2008 in Tucson, Ariz. Elected by WWEMA's board of directors, Angelo will lead the Association during 2009 as chair of the executive committee.
With a 32-year career in the water and wastewater industry, Angelo is well qualified to serve as WWEMA's chairman. He has held leadership positions in the organization since 2006, serving on its board of directors since 2000.
Angelo is joined on the WWEMA executive committee by chairman-elect Dr. Ernest Childs, president emeritus of ArchaeaSolutions Inc. (Tyrone, Ga.); vice chairman Dan Durda, president/CEO of Aeration Industries International (Chaska, Minn.); treasurer Deborah LaVelle, vice president of sales and marketing for Aqua-Aerobic Systems (Loves Park, Ill.); immediate past chairman Thomas Mills, marketing and business development vice president of Severn Trent Services (Fort Washington, Pa.); and president Dawn Kristof Champney of WWEMA (Washington, D.C.).
Members new to the Board of Directors include Tammy Bernier, vice president and COO of Duperon Corporation (Saginaw, Mich.); James Board, president of Weir Specialty Pumps (Salt Lake City, Utah); and Anthony Picozzi, senior vice president of MIOX Corporation (Albuquerque, N.M.).
Since 1908, WWEMA has informed, educated and provided leadership on the issues that shape the future of the water and wastewater industry.
