DÜSSELDORF, Germany, Jan. 15, 2009 -- The European arm of Japanese pump manufacturer Tsurumi has announced that it is to take control of French company CE2A, the long-standing Tsurumi pump dealership for the French market.

In a brand new venture, Tsurumi (Europe) GmbH, has agreed to buy one of its own dealer partners -- the successful French pump specialists, CE2A. This is the first time that Tsurumi have considered acquiring one of its own dealerships in Europe but this opportunity was too good to ignore explains Daniel Weippert, Managing Director of Tsurumi (Europe) GmbH:

"This move is a challenging one for us, but one that we are very much looking forward to," says Mr. Weippert. "France is one of our most important markets and the largest geographical territory in Western Europe. This will be the first time we have decided to operate directly outside of the German-speaking regions but it offers us a unique chance to work closer to our customers," he adds.

Tsurumi were initially approached by CE2A Owner and Managing Director, Alain du Petit Thouars two years ago in relation to the purchase. As he was getting close to retirement he wanted to ensure the future of his business so started actively looking for someone to take over. A suitable successor among family and friends however was difficult to find.

"Tsurumi are my largest business partner by far and I have always found them to be reliable and trustworthy," explains Mr. Du Petit Thouars. "I have worked with them for many years as their exclusive dealer in France and believe they have the expertise, the product range and the business know-how to continue what I started with CE2A," he adds.

The contract was signed on 22nd December 2008 with the transfer of ownership taking effect from January 8th 2009. M. Du Petit Thouars will stay on as CE2A Managing Director in the first year and will then continue to work with Tsurumi in a consultancy capacity to ensure a smooth transition.

"CE2A will continue to offer the same product range and the same outstanding level of service to its customers once Tsurumi take over in the New Year," concludes Daniel Weippert. "This includes the representation of pump manufacturers Tohatsu, Davey and Dragflow. CE2A will also continue to expand its activities in North Africa. It's a very exciting time for us as a company and we are very happy to have been offered this opportunity."

Tsurumi is one of the world's most experienced pump manufacturers.
