MONDSEE, Jan. 22, 2009 -- CHRIST subsidiary Aqua EPC L.L.C., Dubai, UAE, has completed an EPC-contract for the expansion of the Sea Water Desalination System in a 5-Star Beach Resort in Dubai.

The total capacity of the Sea Water RO System will be in excess of 2,800 cubic meters per day using an open intake. The additional Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) system will use the latest energy recovery systems and as such be operated at significantly lower operating costs. An Operation & Maintenance (O&M) contract has also been signed.

"With the current EPC-contracts under construction our Group has an installed base of SWRO-systems now exceeding 200,000 cubic meters per day in the region. Some of the desalination plants that we installed 17 years ago have had a total overall availability of more than 93% which shows the reliability of the design and the quality of the materials used," says Kai-Uwe Buerger , Managing Director of Aqua EPC L.L.C.
