OCEANSIDE, Calif., June 11, 2004 -- Hydranautics, a membrane technology company, joins with Indeck, a municipal system manufacturers in the U.S., to sell the HYDRAcap®, our state-of-the-art capillary ultrafiltration membrane coupled with the efficient HYDRABLOCTM system design. Each company's commitment to the highest standards of excellence in their respective fields allows the other to focus on their specialty, a "win/win" solution for our customers.

Hydranautics was formed in 1963 and Indeck in 1964, together bringing to our customers over 80 years experience in membrane technology and water treatment system design. Indeck, a recognized market leader in ultrapure water treatment, provides in-house engineering, controls and programming as well as in-house start up and maintenance services. Their market presence, systems manufacturing capability, and experience together with Hydranautics' quality HYDRAcap technology allows us to provide customers with cohesive teamwork solutions for their ultrafiltration membrane and system needs.

HYDRAcap and HYDRAcap-LD (large diameter) are superior ultrafiltration treatment technologies that offer single step treatment, fouling resistance and chemical free operation at high recovery rates. HYDRAcap is configured for either stand-alone installation or in combination with other membrane technologies in our Integrated Membrane Solutions (IMS®). HYDRAcap membrane systems treat high fouling surface water and municipal effluents as either the primary treatment method or as a pretreatment step to RO for potable applications, ground water recharging and water recycling.

Indeck's high quality water treatment systems begin with innovative concept development and end with unparalleled installation and maintenance. By utilizing HYDRAcap technology, Indeck is now poised to take their ultrafiltration applications to the next level, and is able to bring together the hard science, innovative vision and practical application required of effective water treatment technologies.

The community of Keokuk, Iowa understands the benefits of the Hydranautics/Indeck partnership. Flanked by the muddy Mississippi and 345 million year old limestone bluffs, the city's state-of-the-art water plant put the team to work with a 4 MGD HYDRAcap ultrafiltration expansion on its 10 MGD existing operation to meet the LT2ESWTR (Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule) requirements. The plants future plans include an additional 10 MGD UF expansion, for a total of 14 MGD UF. Serving over 12,000 citizens and numerous industries, the Keokuk Water Works is the first municipal application of UF/MF membranes as an alternative to conventional pretreatment, in the state of Iowa.

The 4 MGD system is set to go online in late 2004 - the contract was unanimously awarded to Hydranautics/Indeck over submersible technology bids by USFilter and Zenon. Per Bill Cole, General Manager of Keokuk Water Works, "... we went with Indeck over the competition based on both the pilot data and Indeck's very professional presentation to our board. This was a Board of Directors' decision - not just an engineering decision; we felt that both the technology and professionalism were 'there' for us."
