IFAT ENTSORGA to Offer New Perspectives for the Environment

June 1, 2010

IFAT ENTSORGA is a trade fair for innovations, new developments and services in the fields of water, sewage, waste and raw materials management. It will take place from Sept. 13 to 17, 2010, in Munich, Germany, at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. Messe München Intl. and the Federation of the German Waste, Water and Raw Materials Management Industry (BDE), Europe’s largest association of waste, water and recycling businesses, are collaborating for the 2010 event.

In 2008, IFAT set a new record for attendance, with 2,605 exhibitors from 41 countries and around 120,000 trade visitors from 170 countries. Based on current numbers, an even greater turnout is anticipated this year.

“We are more than satisfied with these results,” said Eugen Egetenmeir, a management board member for Messe München. “The application situation clearly demonstrates that the industry welcomes the switch to a two-year cycle and supports the fact that Messe München is collaborating with BDE. The decision to switch to holding the fair every two years was made a year ago. Messe München and BDE have been collaborating since the beginning of the year.”

IFAT ENTSORGA has seen some impressive growth in the sector for water extraction and water and sewage treatment, which will occupy an entire hall more than at IFAT 2008. Among others, the sector’s key companies, such as Andritz, Huber, Kemira, Norit, Passavant-Geiger and Siemens, will be present. A preliminary exhibitor list and product index are available online.

Organizers of IFAT said their objective is to make the 2010 fair more international than ever. IFAT will host various conferences, symposia, workshops and forums throughout the week. Experts representing trade associations, ministries, government agencies and other industry organizations will present. This trade fair aims to give visitors multifaceted insights and several opportunities for comprehensive orientation in many industry segments, including water and sewage treatment, mechanical-physical process, chemical-physical process, treatment of sludge and residues, pipes and shafts and pumps.

The Research & Education Area will return to IFAT this year. Also, IFAT coincides with the 15th International Symposium: Water, Wastewater, Waste, Energy, which offers field trips, a manhole rescue competition, a Young Water Professionals gathering and more.

Two all-inclusive travel packages are available for purchase. Details can be downloaded at www.munichtradefairs.com/documents/flyer_incl_applicationdocuments.pdf. For more information, visit www.ifat.de/en.
