Top Projects

WaterWorld Top Projects showcases ingenuity in major water utility projects across the United States.

SUBMIT A TOP PROJECT BY JULY 31, 2026.

Top Projects is an award that began with WasteWater Digest. As a part of the water group at Endeavor B2B, WaterWorld also awarded top projects within the drinking water space beginning in 2023.

The projects selected represent ingenuity, flexibility and hard work that in the end helped utilities serve their respective communities. Please use the nomination form below to nominate a project for the award in 2026.

Winners will be featured on the web, in WaterWorld news emails and in the WaterWorld print magainze.

All projects must have been in the design or construction phase within 18 months of the submission deadline. Additionally, nominations deemed to be too promotional or marketing heavy will be disqualified at the editors' discretion. Below are the criteria that the projects are judged upon (in no particular order):

  • Complexity of work
  • Impact to community
  • Size and scale
  • Challenges overcome during design, construction and commissioning
  • Stakeholder coordination and involvement
  • Collaboration during construction
  • Innovative processes and/or equipment

When submitting a nomination, be thorough. Tell the story of the project. Explain in detail the challenges the project faced and how your teams cleared those hurdles. Highlight the value of the project to the community, how community stakeholders were involved, and detail the size and scale given limitations on funding, financing, footprint and other common project challenges. Small projects can be just as impressive as large ones given these additional details.
