BROOMFIELD, CO, Sept. 16, 2015 -- In an effort to support its enterprise-wide geospatial water distribution network modeling and management needs, the City of Henderson, N.C., has chosen to incorporate InfoWater, an advanced GIS-integrated water distribution software application from Innovyze, a global innovator of business analytics software and technologies for smart water infrastructure.
The purchase will enable the City to address critical planning, design, maintenance, and operational issues with maximum effectiveness and optimize its capital improvement program in support of its strategic plan.
Located 40 minutes north of the capital of Raleigh near the Virginia border and Kerr Lake, the City of Henderson maintains some 200 miles of water line that supplies water service and fire protection to nearly 10,000 customers. Further, the City has a freshwater storage capacity of 1,500,000 gallons, stored in elevated tanks.
InfoWater's network modeling technology addresses every facet of utility infrastructure management and protection -- delivering a high rate of return. Built atop ArcGIS (Esri, Redlands, CA), the technology integrates sophisticated predictive analytics, systems dynamics and optimization functionality directly within the ArcGIS setting.
From fire flow and dynamic water quality simulations to valve criticality and energy cost analysis to pressure zone management and advanced Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm optimization, the suite comes equipped with everything water utility owner-operators need to best plan, design, operate, secure, and sustain their distribution systems. The software also serves as a base platform for advanced smart network modeling, operation, capital planning, and asset management extensions.
