CA American Water enters purchase agreement for Adams Ranch Water Company

California American Water recently announced that it has entered into a Purchase Agreement to acquire the operating assets from Adams Ranch Mutual Water Company and assume the provision of water service within the Adams Ranch service area in the city of Rosemead, Calif.

CORONADO, CA, June 17, 2015 -- California American Water (CAW) recently announced that it has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire the operating assets from Adams Ranch Mutual Water Company and assume the provision of water service within the Adams Ranch service area in the city of Rosemead, Calif.

Adams Ranch Mutual Water Company serves residential connections and one commercial connection. The entire system is served by one well built in 2001 along with an interconnection with CAW.

The purchase of the water system will add approximately 176 metered customer connections to CAW's customer base in the Los Angeles region. The organization currently supplies water service to more than 28,000homes and businesses in the Los Angeles County District.

Adams Ranch customers will be served by staff that includes water treatment and water distribution operators who are experts in their fields and hold water and wastewater treatment and distribution certifications through the California Department of Public Health.

The purchase of Adams Ranch Mutual Water Company is pending, and CAW will be filing an Advice Letter with the California Public Utilities Commission seeking approval.
