PENNSYLVANIA, MAY 1, 2020 -- Pennsylvania American Water has signed an agreement to acquire Upper Pottsgrove Township’s wastewater system assets for $13.75 million.
The Upper Pottsgrove Township’s wastewater system serves nearly 1,600 customers in Montgomery County.
Pennsylvania American Water president Mike Doran said: “As the water provider for the neighboring Glen Alsace and Royersford areas, we are well positioned to serve Upper Pottsgrove Township through experienced, professional employees that can leverage the resources of our other local operations.
“In fact, some of our employees live in the Upper Pottsgrove area, so this acquisition is a natural fit, and we are glad to welcome Upper Pottsgrove to the Pennsylvania American Water family.”
Now, Pennsylvania American Water plans to initiate necessary upgrade works to improve the reliability and compliance of the wastewater infrastructure system.
The company will also assume three public sewer service extension projects. Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
The acquisition is expected to close in the first half of next year, subject to necessary regulatory approvals.
