SPOKANE, WA, Aug. 25, 2005 -- Itron Inc. announced that effective Oct. 3, Kim Pearman-Gillman will join Itron as vice president of marketing, reporting to LeRoy Nosbaum, chairman and CEO.

Pearman-Gillman will be responsible for strategic marketing, including marketing communications, market intelligence, branding, regulatory support, corporate strategic alliance partners, customer relationship management and employee communications.

Pearman-Gillman has more than 20 years of experience in the utility and high-tech industries, and joins Itron from Avista Corporation, where is currently serving as sr. vice president, Avista Development. In her 15 years at Avista, she has served in key leadership roles covering marketing and market services, business development, economic and community development, corporate mergers and organizational development. Her experience at Avista also includes designing and managing demand side management programs for commercial and industrial customers as well as sales and account management for industrial high technology and manufacturing accounts. Earlier in her career, she worked at The Pillsbury Company and American Cynamid.

Pearman-Gillman has served on the board or as an advisor to numerous community organizations, including Spokane County United Way, International Trade Alliance, Washington Technology Center, Northwest Energy Technology Collaborative and Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.
