GREENSBORO, NC, May 28, 2009 -- The Ohio Department of Health, and the state's Sewage Treatment Technical Advisory Committee, has approved the Bord na Mona Puraflo® Peat Fiber Biofilter wastewater treatment solution for two-foot soil depth credit installations, as authorized under Chapter 3718.04 of the Ohio Revised Code.
The Technical Advisory Committee review is intended to ensure that pre-treatment component reliability and effluent quality is achieved and maintained in accordance with the standards and provisions of the Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) Chapter 3701-29. The Puraflo system was tested and proven to meet the fecal coliform standard of 1,000 colonies /100mL. The approval is effective immediately, according to Charles Ray, Regional Territory Manager for Bord Na Mona Environmental Products U.S. Inc.

Delivered in a pre-assembled modular unit that reduces installation costs, the Puraflo solution can be installed in bottom-less or closed bottom configurations, which makes it an ideal treatment solution in difficult soil, shallow water table, and lot size restrictive applications. It is a single pass system that does not require blowers, complex control panels or recirculation pumps.
