PASADENA, Calif., Dec. 9, 2003 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has been awarded a Worldwide Environmental Restoration and Construction (WERC) contract by the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE), Brooks AFB, Texas.
The WERC contracts, which are the follow-on to AFCEE's Environmental Remediation and Construction contracts, consist of multiple indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity awards. Jacobs is one of 24 firms, including 16 small businesses, under contract for a program that has a total value between $4 billion and $10 billion.
The WERC contracts provide a full range of worldwide construction and engineering efforts to meet base needs. In addition to environmental requirements, the program includes a secondary requirement for traditional engineering needs.
The contracts also include demolition, repair, emergency response, and operation & maintenance opportunities for both environmental and traditional engineering activities. Work at numerous worldwide locations is scheduled for completion by November 2012.
Jacobs has provided environmental engineering, design, and remediation services to AFCEE since 1991, with awards totalling $900 million over 12 different contracts. Jacobs is one of AFCEE's largest environmental engineering and remediation contractors.
