NEW YORK, NY, June 9, 2016 -- Rentricity Inc., the innovative in-pipe hydropower clean energy company commenced its first large-scale project for the Bucks County Water & Sewer Authority (BCWSA). Rentricity Flow-to-Wire™ and SEMS™ systems' convert flow and excess pressure into clean energy which can be used on-site or distributed to the electric grid. The project is part of a major upgrade to BCWSA system in Feasterville to include a new pipeline energized to bring new purchased water into the area from North Wales. The site is Rentricity’s largest installation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The NSF-certified energy recovery system will include twin turbines to optimize electricity and provide safe drinking water to residents of Bucks County.

Rentricity completed a preliminary design study for an in-pipe hydropower system for BCWSA’s new Feasterville vault in 2013, which resulted in an "energy recovery ready" vault design. Upon energizing the new pipeline, BCWSA chose to further improve the infrastructure by adding a 50 to 100 kilowatt in-pipe hydropower system. The system, to be located at the Feasterville Tank site, will supply the power to the local grid. "Building our water infrastructure with smart and sustainable technologies is a success criteria we value at BCWSA." said Benjamin Jones, CEO of BCWSA. "Taking advantage of the excess pressure in this pipeline will allow us to offset electricity costs and improve the monitoring and management of this new infrastructure," he added.

Rentricity offers sustainability technology enhancements for water operators managing drinking, irrigation and industrial water operations. "With over 400 billion gallons of water flowing through aging pipelines daily in the United States, designing new infrastructure for energy efficiency is essential to success." says Frank Zammataro, Rentricity's CEO and Co-founder. "We see an enormous potential for retro-fitting older piping infrastructure and enhancing new infrastructure designs to be energy recovery ready like BCWSA." he added. The NSF-61 & 372 safe-drinking water certified equipment is exclusively available from Rentricity.
