August marks the occasion of National Water Quality Month, of which FTL Technology are proud supporters.

So much goes on behind the clean, potable water that comes out of your tap. This special annual event was setup to raise awareness about water quality, protecting water resources and providing better education on the issues surrounding water pollution.

Water pollution comes in many different forms. From sewer water and mining through to landfill leakage and oil spill incidents, FTL Technology’s drive towards the creation of intelligent custom-engineered sealing solutions has helped operators eliminate many sources of process contamination in the water supply.

Notably, as the exclusive UK agent and supply partner of MECO seals, FTL Technology engineers have been able to solve complex sealing problems around process contamination in split rotating mechanical shaft seals.

From the hygienic jet washing of machinery in food processing plants to sealing solutions for pharmaceutical process equipment, Woodex MECO seals offer demonstrably superior sealing solutions to significantly reduce both process contamination and potential damage to sensitive process materials.

MECO seals can also drastically reduce process times as a result of efficient vacuum performance, outperforming all other seal systems when it comes to abrasive media.

Choosing the right sealing components for oil applications is vital for ensuring operator safety, equipment reliability and minimal downtime. FTL Technology works with a suite of cutting-edge elastomers, developed to resist Explosive Decompression (ED) and Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) across downhole, surface and subsea applications. From offshore wells to Arctic exploration, their oil and gas sealing solutions are engineered to perform in any environment, tested to industry standards including NORSOK M710, NACE, API 6A & ISO 10423.

FTL Technology is a proud supporter of Water Quality Month. Please feel free to share this article on social media, tagging in @Ftltechnology and using #NationalWaterQualityMonth.
