Haestad Methods revealed three new training courses for the civil engineering community.

WATERBURY, CT, Feb. 10, 2003 -- Haestad Methods revealed three new training courses for the civil engineering community. These courses apply to WaterObjects, the company's latest addition to its state-of-the-art water resources software portfolio, designed to provide programmatic access and customization of WaterCAD/WaterGEMS software.

The first round of training will be held on February 12-14 at Haestad Methods' Connecticut-based educational facility with additional sessions offered monthly throughout the year.

WaterObjects is a full-featured Software Development Kit (SDK) that leverages the water modeling capabilities of WaterCAD and WaterGEMS through third-party custom applications.

WaterObjects is the same technology that Haestad Methods' developers use to create modules for WaterCAD and WaterGEMS, which includes superior key features such as, Skelebrator™, GeoGrapher™, and ModelForge™. With WaterObjects, users will gain direct access to the water model backend database, scenario and alternative management; unit conversion; element management; hydraulic calculation engine, and much more.

"Our clients can use this new technology for customization and extension of Haestad Methods' products," said Nicole Beckom, Director of Continuing Education for Haestad Methods. "Engineers can use WaterObjects to create simple but powerful MS Office macros that perform custom tasks or calculations using the WaterCAD/WaterGEMS data. Application developers can use the complete WaterObjects SDK to create complex, high-end third party applications using WaterCAD and WaterGEMS modeling and data-mining capabilities with object-oriented programs."

Three courses geared to different audiences are offered:
1) Overview of WaterObjects for civil engineers and engineering managers:
Two-hour executive summary of WaterObjects capabilities

2) Basic WaterObjects Training for civil design engineers:
Three-day training on applying WaterObjects using Microsoft Office Extensions

3) Advanced WaterObjects Training for programmers and software developers:
Three-day training on applying WaterObjects Software Development Kit (SDK).

Each three-day attendee will receive a certification plaque, course notebook, CD with sample WaterObjects code, and WaterObjects documentation. Participants in the three-day engineering training series will earn the status of Haestad Methods' Certified WaterObjects Programmer. Developers who complete the three-day training series for applying WaterObjects SDK will earn the status of Haestad Methods' Certified WaterObjects Developer.
