SAO PAULO, Brazil, Jan. 15, 2008 -- Companhia de Saneamento Basico do Estado de Sao Paulo (SABESP), a provider of water and sewage services, has executed a memorandum of understanding with companies of the Capuava Petrochemical Complex for the launch of the Aquapolo Ambiental project.
The project aims to supply reuse water from SABESP's Sewage Treatment Station to the companies of the Complex, located between the cities of Santo Andre and Maua, in order to enable the production of sufficient volume of water to meet the current and future capacities of the companies in the region, preserving treated water for consumption.
The investment of around R$ 130 million will be supported by the consortium among the companies of the Capuava Complex, led by Petroquimica Uniao (PQU).
