• Applied Australia Pty to manufacture and sell KOCHKLEEN® and KOCHTREAT® products in Australia

WILMINGTON, MA, April 18, 2008 -- Koch Membrane Systems Inc. (KMS), a world-class developer and manufacturer of innovative membranes and membrane systems, has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with Applied Australia Pty Ltd, a specialized supplier of high quality chemical products and services and a wholly owned entity of ITW Inc., to manufacture and market KOCHTREAT® antiscalants and KOCHKLEEN® membrane cleaning products in Australia and New Zealand. The agreement, effective Jan. 1, 2008, will help satisfy growing demand for membrane maintenance products in the region.

"KMS has a strong reputation for performance and innovation, and we believe both companies will work well together," said Derek Stott, general manager of Applied Australia Pty. "Applied will provide local manufacturing and expand service and logistics to Koch Membrane Systems' customer base in the Australian and New Zealand marketplace."

Applied Australia Pty plans to market the KOCHKLEEN and KOCHTREAT products to new and existing customers for water and wastewater treatment applications in the food processing, industrial process, mining, transportation and manufacturing sectors.

KOCHTREAT antiscalants and KOCHKLEEN membrane cleaners are part of a complete line of antiscalants, cleaners and maintenance chemicals that KMS offers to help prolong membrane life and reduce cleaning cycle time for reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, microfiltration and ultrafiltration membranes. KOCHTREAT antiscalants provide increased performance benefits in addition to physical and chemical compatibility with thin-film composite and cellulose acetate RO membranes. These benefits include the ability to maintain performance integrity at extreme pH ranges and temperatures. When used as directed, KOCHTREAT chemicals will not precipitate, crystallize or blind the membrane. KOCHKLEEN products help reduce downtime and provide reproducible clean-in-place results.

All products to be manufactured by Applied Australia Pty shall utilize chemical formulations which are carefully reviewed by Koch Membrane Systems' process engineers and membrane and polymer scientists to make certain that they provide superior performance benefits, including physical and chemical compatibility with the membranes.

Applied Australia's core business is designing and implementing tailored chemical programs backed by routine on-site technical service and support.

Koch Membrane Systems Inc. is a designer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art membrane cartridges and elements, as well as complete membrane systems
