Solar Dryers for Biosolids

May 31, 2016
Disposal of bio-solids from wastewater is expensive. Looking beyond personnel and power costs, biosolids disposal costs are the major operating costs for wastewater treatment plants. Disposal costs are priced by weight. Mechanically dewatered biosolids typically contain 70 to 80 % water. By applying solar drying methods, additional water can be removed. This will result in a significant savings in the haul-off costs.
