Salad maker hit with $67K in fines for violating Clean Water Act

EPA says processing plant didn't have the required documents, training to stop contaminated stormwater from entering waterways.

SALINAS, CA, JULY 2, 2018 -- Taylor Farms Retail Inc. will pay $67,640 in fines for improperly discharging industrial stormwater at its Salinas plant, federal officials said. The Environmental Protection Agency reached the settlement with Taylor Farms after inspectors found its Salinas warehouse and food processing plant didn't have the required documents and training on stopping contaminated stormwater from entering waterways.
