The acquisition will bring together two North American source water industry leaders with long term market experience and broad customer bases.

MELBOURNE, AUS, FEB 7, 2020 -- Ixom, a global leader in water treatment and pre-treatment, has finalized the acquisition Medora Environmental (Medora), a market leader in source water management solutions.

Expanding on Ixom’s strong water capabilities including ground water treatment plants, water treatment systems and strong markets in pre-treatment disinfection, chlorination and associated products and PFAS removal, the investment in the United States business strengthens Ixom’s global source water management offering.

The acquisition will bring together two North American source water industry leaders with long term market experience and broad customer bases to position Ixom as one of the industry leaders in the source water management industry.

Medora, based in North Dakota, has a range of water treatment and wastewater sector products, related to source water, waste water as well as potable water treatment, offering essential source water treatment services to over 110,000 municipal water sources across North America.

Paul Atkinson, Group CEO Ixom said of the acquisition “This significant investment for Ixom demonstrates our clear growth strategy expanding our Source Water Management footprint in North America and beyond.”

“Coupled with our superior MIEX product line in North America, Europe and Australasia, the integration of both companies allows us to offer more products and end to end services along the water value chain for customers,” said Mr Atkinson.

To lead this newly expanded operation, Ixom has appointed Mr Greg Chirieleison, as Executive Vice President of Source Watercare. Mr Chirieleison brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, having previously held senior roles including Managing Director, Asia for Haynes International, Inc., one of the world’s leading producers of specialty materials used in aero engines, gas turbines and chemical processing facilities. Mr Chirieleison will commence his appointment in March 2020.

Medora’s highly regarded quality products range, reservoir knowledge base and potable treatment product and service portfolio combined with Ixom’s strength in water treatment and compliance systems gives us a market leading reservoir treatment position.

“This combination of global reach and local knowledge will help both businesses leverage each other’s strengths in the water market to offer a wider suite of solutions to help solve our customers’ water challenges across the globe.”
