Drinking water supply contracts awarded to SPML Infra in India

GURGAON, India -Indian infrastructure development company, SPML Infra, has received two new orders for drinking water supply worth INR 812.49 Crore (US$118.7m) from the state of Rajasthan and Telangana.

The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department, Government of Telangana awarded an order worth INR 549.87 Crore (US$80.3m) to provide a drinking water facility in the Manthani–Bhupalapally segment (under Karimnagar and Warrangal district) including operation and maintenance for 10 years.

The aims of the project are to provide a secured drinking water supply system through the Telangana Drinking Water Supply Project for covering Rural, Urban and Industrial areas by year 2018, as per with National Rural Drinking Water Supply Guidelines.

SPML Infra will be executing this project in joint venture with Megha Engineering and Infrastructure.

The scope of work includes 32,000 m3/day, ground level water reservoir, overhead service reservoir, 1341 kilometers water supply pipeline of DI, MS, HDPE pipes of 65-900 mm diameters.

Another order of INR 262.62 Crore (US$38.3m) was awarded by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Rajasthan to provide drinking water supply to 97 villages of Mallah, Deeg, Kumher, Kaman, Pahari, Nagar under Chambal Dholpur Bharatpur Project.

The scope of work include installation of twopumping stations, construction of 14 overhead service reservoirs, four clear water reservoirs and 700 kilometers of water pipeline.

Rishabh Sethi, executive director, SPML Infra,said:“This is a significant order in the water supply segment from Telangana and we hope that this is a beginning for many such projects involving development of water infrastructure in the state.”
