PC Construction completes wastewater treatment plant for City of Palm Coast, Florida

The $30 million facility will augment the city's existing treatment plant, which has neared capacity, and accommodate continued growth and development in the area.

PALM COAST, FL, JUNE 28, 2018 -- PC Construction, among the nation's largest employee-owned construction companies, announced the completion of a new wastewater treatment plant for the City of Palm Coast in Florida. The $30 million facility will augment the city's existing treatment plant, which has neared capacity, and accommodate continued growth and development in the area.

The new facility will provide an additional 2 million gallons of treatment capacity per day. The resulting high-quality effluent will be used for irrigation and groundwater recharge, allowing the City to conserve potable water and decrease the rate of groundwater withdrawal.

"Up until now, Palm Coast customers have had to dip into their potable water supply for agricultural uses, which has further constrained the plant's capacity," said Jim Landon, Palm Coast City Manager. "So this new plant is a critical component of the City's future development."

"This project is exactly the reason why water and wastewater treatment construction is so important," said Jay Fayette, president and chief operating officer at PC Construction. "With the addition of this facility, the City of Palm Coast will be able to efficiently meet the city's growth needs in a more efficient and sustainable manner. Building for the future, that's what it is all about."
