WWEMA hosts 110th Annual Meeting, honors 2019 Morriss Award Winner

Organization announces 2019 Executive Committee, Board of Directors positions.  

WWEMA elected new officers and directors during its 110th Annual Meeting in West Palm Beach, Florida.

LEESBURG, VA, DEC 5, 2018 -- The members of the Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association (WWEMA) elected new officers and directors during its 110th Annual Meeting, November 7-9, in Manalapan (West Palm Beach), Florida.

The 2019 WWEMA Executive Committee is made up of Chairman John Dyson, Product Channel Manager-AquaPrime, Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. (Loves Park, IL); Chairman-Elect Michael Dimitriou, President, WRT LLC (Arvada, CO); Vice-Chairman John Collins, Chief Executive Officer, JCM Industries, Inc. (Nash, TX); Treasurer Vince Baldasare, Sales Manager, Gorman-Rupp Company (Mansfield, OH); and Immediate Past Chairman Thacher Worthen, President and Chief Executive Officer, Schreiber LLC (Trussville, AL).

Five members were newly elected to the WWEMA 2019 Board of Directors.

• Mark Handzel, Vice President of Product Regulatory Affairs and Compliance, Xylem, Inc. (Morton Grove, IL)
• Sergio Pino-Jelcic, Sales Manager, Evoqua Water Technologies LLC (Waukesha, WI)
• Paul Ravelli, Sales Manager, Suez Treatment Technologies and Solutions (Haddonfield, NJ)
• Nick Peyton, Vice President and General Manager, Specialty Valves, Mueller Water Products (Atlanta, GA)
• Henk-Jan van Ettekoven, President, Huber Technology, Inc. (Huntersville, NC)

In addition, the membership re-elected Marwan Nesicolaci, Global Senior Vice President, De Nora Water (Colmar, PA) for a second three-year term.

WWEMA Chairman Thacher Worthen, President and Chief Executive Officer, Schreiber LLC named Deb LaVelle, President and Chief Executive Officer, Aquarius Technologies (Saukville, WI), as the recipient of the 2018 James C. Morriss Member Achievement Award. The James C. Morriss Member Achievement Award is presented each year to a WWEMA member for significant contributions to the mission of the Association, and to the benefit of the water and wastewater industry.

In presenting the award, Worthen cited LaVelle's outstanding service to WWEMA throughout the current year and in many preceding years. LaVelle has been an active member of WWEMA for nearly two decades and currently she serves as Chair of WWEMA's Legislative/Regulatory Committee. Prior to that, LaVelle served as WWEMA Chair for two consecutive terms, during a critical transition of Executive Directors. Previously, she served on WWEMA's Board of Directors and as a member of WWEMA's Marketing and Member Services Committee.
