PASADENA, CA, April 8, 2008 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that it received a contract to provide engineering and procurement services to support various routine sustaining capital projects at the NOVA Chemicals Joffre site located east of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Officials did not disclose the contract value.
NOVA Chemicals is a major international petrochemicals manufacturer of ethylene, polyethylene, styrene, and polystyrene. NOVA Chemicals also licenses SCLAIRTECH™, a proprietary polyethylene technology, worldwide.
The NOVA Chemicals Joffre site consists of six main operating areas: three ethylene crackers, two polyethylene plants, and the manufacturing infrastructure area consisting of all the site support systems including pipelines, utilities, and water treatment. Along with engineering and procurement support, Jacobs will also assist NOVA Chemicals with execution planning and coordination, cost estimating, and technical field checking.
Jacobs has been providing engineering and procurement services for ongoing sustaining capital work for the past 15 years through their dedicated multiple projects group using disciplined work processes designed specifically for sustaining capital projects.
