ST. LOUIS, Sept. 9, 2003 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that a subsidiary company has received a 1-year renewable contract to provide system-wide wastewater planning services for Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD).
MSD is the local municipal agency responsible for managing wastewater and stormwater collection and treatment for the City of St. Louis and a large portion of the greater St. Louis County metropolitan area.
Officials did not disclose the contract value.
Jacobs will support MSD's long-range master-planning program with hydraulic modeling and engineering analysis of proposed improvements, which are based upon compliance with environmental regulatory requirements, future growth, system efficiency, required expansion, and project priority.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Michael Higgins stated, "We are pleased to continue our 30-year history of service to MSD by serving as an extension of their staff. We look forward to helping them plan for the delivery of an estimated $4.7 billion of phased infrastructure improvements city- and county-wide that will benefit residential, commercial, and industrial customers for decades to come."
