CHATTANOOGA, TN, July 24, 2007 -- Alco Chemical, a National Starch and Chemical Company, has announced a price increase in the United States and Canada on its aqueous polymer and rheology modifier product lines. Increases range from 5 percent to 8 percent and are effective August 20, 2007, or as contracts allow. Continued escalation in monomer, caustic and energy costs are the reason for these increases, according to company officials.
