Pennsylvania American Water representatives joined state and local officials to tour a new field operations center in Uniontown, Fayette County. The new 37,500-square-foot facility was built to better support the company’s operations, benefitting both customers and employees.
“We are excited to unveil this $3 million-dollar rehabilitation project, which upgraded a dormant industrial building and is supporting local revitalization efforts,” said Mike Doran, president of Pennsylvania American Water. “Its central location will improve response times, and its climate-controlled space will benefit our vehicles and materials year-round.”
State, township, and city officials participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour of the new facility. Pennsylvania American Water employees joined the dignitaries for lunch following the ceremony to celebrate the completion of the field operation center.
“Investments like this by Pennsylvania American Water are critical to help maintain the infrastructure that provides our drinking water in Fayette County,” said Senator Pat Stefano. “I applaud the company for their hard work and dedication to providing customers across the Commonwealth with high quality, reliable drinking water service.”
The new facility replaced a more than 60-year-year old structure, which could not support future growth and had aging climate control systems. It will support the company’s customers in Uniontown and Connellsville, South Connellsville, Bullskin, Dunbar, German, Menallen, North Union, and South Union.
